03:30 pm - Mmmm... Stormy!
Ok, Ernesto turned out to be a big wuss, but we're getting some pretty good rain from it. Lots of lightning & thunder too. Ooooh. I love this shit. I say, "Bring it on!" Wish I could go home though. I'm at work for pete's sake. Tropical storm a-blowin', my son is home alone cause schools are closed, and I'm here accomplishing exactly NOTHING! Not fair. Wanna be home. Sure is pretty to watch from home or work!

11:03 pm - Mmmm... that felt goooood.
I've been a single mother for 10 years. Most of those years have been hard, emotionally and financially. I've lived in hovels, worn cast-off clothes from co-workers, and driven the nastiest vehicles around.

Over time, with hard work and perseverence, I've heaved and scraped my way out of the trailer park (no offense intended) and now have a decent life with an awesome job.

I have a fair apartment, my wardrobe is getting better, and I bought myself a 1999 Sebring Convertible for Valentine's Day! I traded in my roach-infested, moldy-interior POS car. Whoooo, I get the creeps just thinking about that car. Ick! But my convertible is niiiice. Well, it's a "mom sports car", but it's perfect for me (I'm only 30!).

This evening, I found myself cruising up along side a dark brick red 2006 Mustang Convertible, so shiny there was a glare coming off it even though it was dusk. Ooooh. I glance over, because with both of our tops down our heads weren't that far apart, and hollered, "Nice car!" and they hollered back, "You too!" Wow, that felt great (and it was funny, too)!

I'm pretty proud of myself tonight. I'm thinking about the things I have accomplished, how far I've come, and I know I can do better and better. God's not done with us til He calls us. I'm looking forward to seeing where I end up. Life is, if nothing else, interesting.

WTF?! Did ya'll watch the Oscars last night? What a friggin' rip-off! Some people said BBM was "vulgar", but not as vulgar as how hard the Academy SCREWED BBM!! Don't get me started... *growls softly*

I've looked & looked, but can't find one of Angel's expressions when he was in the sun, walking on the beach. That was GORGEOUS! I don't know the name of the episode, but Spike wanted the ring. Remember? Please! <-: Yummy!

05:05 pm - What nerve...
Man, that sucks! I'm a member of a quit-smoking forum (been cig-less for 4 months! Yay!) and today, under "General Chit-Chat", I started a thread asking who'd seen it, saying that I loved it, put a link for my livejournal, and I got an email from the moderators saying my thread had been deleted because they felt it was inappropriate! Here's what it said:

Hi , sorry but your thread about Brokeback Mountain was
deleted. It's too hot a topic, as we have several gay people as members
and also several very religious people...and we don't want any
hurtful or disrepectful replies. Terry and the rest of the mods
decided it was not suitable for our forum.
Have a great day... Smoking Cessation Moderator

What?!
Apparently, before it was deleted, someone HAD commented negatively about it! I don't get it. Why would anyone feel "inflammatory" about that?. If they don't wanna see it, feel it's wrong, etc, no one is making them read my thread any more than they're being MADE to go to the movies! Really ticked me off. It's not a political statement, people, it's a movie. Just love it.

08:39 pm - Can we TALK about BBM?!
Whoa. How did this movie I was miserable seeing the first get so far under my skin? I'm not a small woman and I have really long legs, so sitting in the theatre has become one of my least favorite things (although I still suffer cause it's worth it!) but I saw it once and then again and would go a third time with my BFF if I wasn't worried about the looks from the popcorn people (it'd be her FOURTH time!) I visualize Ennis at the top of those stairs, looking like a little kid at Christmas, and saying, Jack F-ing Twist, then running with his feet off the ground to get him. Of course the slamming into walls comes next, but his face is the really magnetic part for me. Ugh, I want to inject this movie into my blood or make love to it or eat it, something, just to make it more WITH me, more PART of me. Have I gone insane? Could be, but it's ok. Thank God the rest of the world is falling in love with it too. I'm thankful I don't have to suffer loving this movie in silence the way Jack & Ennis suffered. Whew, that wasn't a movie, it was an event, epiphany, a work of art to rival Atlas Shrugs. I'm in love.

11:51 pm - Testing, Testing, 123...
Wow. It's like stepping through a door and finding yourself in a gigantic room filled with strangers. It's thrilling, challenging, but a little frightening at once. I'm new to this, so please be patient with me. I'm excited to be here, look forward to meeting extremely interesting people & new friends, pick up some new Buffy/Angel info, etc. I'll try to be profound occasionally, but I"m usually just mildly amusing. Sometimes that's enough, right? :-) I've got to give credit for this awesome LiveJournal thing to my best friend of 13 years, Chelle. You da chit, man!!
